Captain America Punch Recipe

Any superhero would love a Captain America inspired drink with red, white, and blue. Making this Captain America Punch recipe is a must have part of any Avengers party.

Although it is very easy to make, there are two tricks to creating three distinct layers of colors. The sugar content of the drinks is key in order to keep the layers separated. The higher concentrated sugar must be the bottom layer. The next layer needs to have a lighter sugar content and the top has the lightest. Definitely read the labels on the drinks to find the right brands.

Tipping the glass to the side and slowly pouring in layers two and three is the trick to not mix the layers. We were very surprised to successfully manage this on the very first try as we thought it would be very difficult.

Captain America Punch Recipe

Ingredients:

• Fruit Punch – Great Value brand
• Gatorade Frost – White
• G2 Glacier Freeze – Reduced sugar blue Gatorade

Directions:

1. Add ice to your glass.
2. Pour the fruit punch to about 1/3 of the glass.
3. Tip the glass to the side and slowly pour the ginger ale to about 2/3 of the glass.
4. Tip the glass to the side and very slowly pour the blue Gatorade to fill the glass.
5. Serve and enjoy.

Just for fun we let one drink sit out overnight to see if the red, white, and blue were still separated. At the 24 hour mark and the 48 hour mark it was still separated so we left one glass out an entire week and it was still separated in the three distinct colors. Fun little science experiment to do yourself, but do not drink it if you leave it out.

If you have trouble finding the specific drinks we used, just find the closest drinks in the colors you need. Make sure they have three different amounts of sugar and layer them with the highest amount of sugar first and the least amount of sugar last. Using a sugar free or reduced sugar drink works well for the top layer.
