Crayola Scoot is a Fun Family Video Game
Thank you to Outright Games for giving us an advanced copy of Crayola Scoot to review.
Looking for a video game the entire family can play together? Crayola Scoot is now available and is rated E for Everyone. With up to four players on one screen this is a fun one for family game night on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, or PC.
This game allows players to ride a scooter through a skate park and splash color around. This is the perfect game for children and adults who are frankly afraid of falling at a real skate park because there is no fear of failure here.
Learn to grind with the best of them in an environment where everything is colorful and fun.
The first step in game play is picking your character. After picking whether your character is a boy or girl, pick your skin color from several choices, and then you pick your character’s color. Next is picking your character’s name and you are ready to play.
The game play begins in the plaza where Mort’s blimp arrives and shows you around the plaza where gaming instructions begin. The shiny portal provides access to various events.
NEB is the reigning champion of the Color Cup. Do you have what it takes to win your own? You are given the chance to play events and beat legends in order to rise up.
The arcade allows game play in split screen with multi-player up to four players on one single screen.
Be sure to visit Scoot Shack to buy new bits for your scooter or new clothing. The higher your score the more you achieve. The more you play more options are available to select from. Winning and game play allows you to earn credits that can be spent in the Scoot Shack.
The Trick Zone allows your character to float in the air and learn new tricks without a fear of falling.
Once you go through the tutorial you should be able to do all of the tricks on your scooter. This is the time you can go through the shiny portal to visit other areas beyond the plaza. There are three worlds to choose from: Crayons Color City, Enchanted Forest, and Alien Theme Park. Each world has multiple game play options and each of those have three difficulty levels which allows you to play at your skill level and increase when your skills increase. There is a total of 12 skate parks available across the three worlds. At first Crayons Color City is the only option to choose from for game play. Eventually you will unlock the other two to expand your options.
Six different games await you. Crazy Crayons, Color Frenzy, Splatter Tag, Trick Run, and S.C.O.O.T. gives you opportunities to beat Scoot Legends and earn the coveted Color Cup. You can play these solo or as part of a team.
Younger children will enjoy just playing around in the plaza while older children will enjoy the competitive nature of being number one among the Legends or just among their family and friends.
If you crash, which will happen at least once, you simply have your color splash across the entire screen and you start again. It is built in an environment where you just dust yourself off and try again.
Important tip for adults. If you are bad at driving games still play this one anyway with your kids. They will enjoy beating you and giving them an opportunity to do something better than you. They will also laugh quite a bit at your inability to hit the target or achieve a goal but they will be laughing with you not at you. Remember it is all about family fun.
The music played during the game is a fun and upbeat, playful music that encourages you to continue to play further.
The game play is simple but the tricks can be rather tricky to figure out. With a little bit of practice you can soon be on your way to being on the leaderboard.
