The Wi-Fi router took less than two minutes to install and have our family connected to the internet.

From the moment the new router was hooked up, we noticed a huge change in our ability to connect reliably. Our download speed tripled and our upload speed doubled from the previous router we were using. This is a tremendous help for a connected family.

After the router was established we made sure to change the router name and the password to something we could remember. This required establishing a Linksys account for the first time. In order to get the router attached to your account, you will need the password. The one included in the box does not work for the online account. Thankfully they had a free online chat feature available for support. If you are in the same position we are, just try the default password “admin” and it should get you into your account where you can then change your password. If this does not work, try the online chat.

The Linksys app center allows you to change your router name, password, and shows all the devices attached to your router. You can also run a speed test, prioritize which media should take precedence for the internet usage, set up guest access, and configure external storage devices.

Parental controls limit internet access for your children

You can set up parental controls allowing when children can access the internet in the app. Additionally, you can also block what websites they see.
