LEGO Star Wars Takes Over Miniland
During Star Wars Days at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona, LEGO Star Wars took over Miniland. For Star Wars fans and LEGO fans it was an exciting combination and we are happy to bring you this post, sponsored by LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona.
The very first LEGO Star Wars Days was a hit for both children and adults. Those familiar with Miniland saw the familiar Arizona landscape and tourist spots dotted with Star Wars minifigures.
In case you missed this event, here are some of the highlights from the LEGO event that was held a long, long time ago.
Luke Skywalker battled Darth Vader high above the downtown Phoenix landscape as they were perched upon one of the high rise buildings.
Poe’s X-Wing made a landing at Sky Harbor Airport. Baggage handler at Terminal A made sure his luggage cleared security.
R2-D2 was seen carrying his own suitcase on top of his head.
Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator was scheduled for take-off but a First Order Tie Fighter Pilot made an emergency landing causing the traffic at Sky Harbor Airport to back up.
Obi-Wan Kenobi took a vacation and landed his New Delta 7 Jedi Starfighter at the Wigwam Motel. Suitcase in hand, he clearly was ready to leave the Jedi Council behind for a few days and take in Arizona’s scenery. He even had his trusty astromech droid, R4-P17, along for the vacation.
The Sandcrawler arrived at Uncle Owen’s farm where Jawas sold their droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, as cowboys ride their horses across the desert avoiding the snakes.
Darth Vader’s Tie Fighter dog fights the A-Wing in the ultimate battle between Imperial and Republic, witnessed over downtown Tempe and Tempe Town Lake.
Yoda found more students to teach the ways of the Jedi. Upon closer inspection, they may have been teaching Yoda a few new tricks since he joined a Yoga session in downtown Tempe. We hear Yoda Yoga is now highly in demand for Rebel scum.
The First Order Stormtrooper, complete with the Riot Baton, had women yelling “Traitor” as he stood on the steps of Maz’s Castle. Maz was not in sight, but we heard rumors she was walking down 5th Street in Downtown Tempe. Kylo Ren must have been tired from all of his temper tantrums since he was sitting down just outside Maz’s Castle.
Even the Grand Canyon was not off limits. A tribe of Ewoks hiked down the Grand Canyon and built their own village, much to the surprise of Park Rangers.
The Force has moved on to another galaxy. If you missed the Star Wars LEGO Days be sure to check out LEGOLAND Discovery Center Arizona as fans hope there may be future events with Star Wars LEGO minifigures.
