Monster Punch Drink Recipe

A monsterous summer was one of our fun memories as we watched Monsters University in the movie theatre as a family. Not even five minutes into the movie my son leans over and whispers to me the sacred words, “I want to buy this movie. Now.” Thankfully Monsters University came out on Blu-ray and DVD, just in time for the holidays, and I am grateful to share our fun with you courtesy of Disney.
Monsters University is a great movie to buy for a little monster…I mean child. My little monsters love it.
Monsters Inc. is one of our family’s favorite movies and with great characters as Sulley, Mike, and Boo we have come to love. Whenever we go to California Adventure, our number one ride over all these years still is Monsters Inc. Roz’s humor just gets me every time. Now that we have seen Monsters University and know more about Sulley and Mike’s relationship it just makes it even sweeter to watch again.
If you are planning on bringing Monsters University to your home for the holidays, then be sure to pick up the exclusive gift set available only at Walmart that includes the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack plus a Disney Infinity figure. Choices available are either Mike or Randy. My boys had a hard time deciding but ultimately chose to add Randy to our extensive Disney Infinity collection. We are avid gamers, after all and Disney Infinity is one of the best games. Ever.
We even stopped over in the toys section to check out the Monsters University section of toys. My seven year old fell in love with the Monster Minis and brought home his favorite Monsters University characters from MU’s scariest crew featuring an exclusive Randy, Squishy, Sulley, Mike, Art, Terri & Terry, George, Archie the Scare Pig, Chet, Mrs. Squibbles, Don, Carrie, Omar, Brynn, Brock, Johnny, Roy, Dean Hardscrabble, Clair, and Carla.
To celebrate the release of Monsters University on Blu-ray and DVD we had a fun family viewing party. We focused on watching the extras that come only on the Blu-ray disk. We loved watching the stories where you see the back story of how the movie was made, relationships formed among team members working on the creation, and the deleted scenes.
Every great party need a fun treat to share so we made Monster Punch. No college degree is required to make our super easy family recipe we modified just for our monster party.

Monster Punch Drink Recipe Celebrates Monsters University
Ingredients:
- 1 2 liter Ginger Ale
- 1 2 liter Hawaiian Punch Polar Blast
- 3 scoops key lime sherbert
- 1 package Monsters University candy eyeballs
- 1 blue Pixie Stix
Instructions:
- To coat the rim of the glass dip rim of glass in water, shake excess off, then dip into a wide, shallow container of Pixie Stix.
- Pour equal amounts of Ginger Ale and Hawaiian Punch into the glass being careful to not touch the rim of candy.
- Add 3 scoops of sherbert to cover the top of the liquid in the glass. More can be added as desired but a solid layer across the top is needed for the next step.
- Add one candy eyeball to the top. If you did not add enough sherbert the eyeball will slide to the bottom. Just add more ice cream and try with another eyeball. Enjoy!
Note: This can be made in a punch bowl for a large party or can be made with individual glasses, which is what we did for our Monsters University family party.
Serves: 10-20
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 0 minutes
The Verdict
Seven year old son: Two thumbs up. Wants more eyeballs next time.
Ten year old son: Two thumbs up and says I am the coolest mom ever.
My husband: Two thumbs up. A modification of our family favorite punch means he is happy.
Me: Two thumbs up. Loved enjoying our punch, especially since there is very little clean up involved and can be made for just one, four, or more.
