Tinkerbell Steals the Show in Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Fantasy
Disney on Ice presents Worlds of Fantasy is touring the country and made a stop in Phoenix, Arizona. As a Feld Family Ambassador it was a joy to attend this show, as Disney on Ice is one of our family’s favorite shows.
Instead of focusing on just one story line, four familiar movies are weaved throughout.
RELATED:
Appearing first is everybody’s favorite mouse, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Fans will rejoice as Donald and Goofy also appear. Many of the kids in the audience were excited to see Mickey’s car since that is not one seen very often.
Cars fans will love seeing Mater, Lightning McQueen, Sally, Ramone, and Flo. There is definitely something different about seeing cars moving on ice. If you have seen Lightning McQueen and Mater at Disneyland, then you know how realistic they look coming from the animation. The artistry carried over onto the ice as the wheels and even the eyes move.
The next story is Little Mermaid where we see Ariel, Flounder, and Sebastian. Ursula makes her appearance, along with her two eels, Flotsam and Jetsam. Prince Eric and Ariel’s ice dancing was beautiful to watch.
Tinkerbell steals the show
Tinkerbell, and all the fairies including Bobble, Clank, Queen Clarion, Fairy Mary, Fawn, Rosetta, Silvermist, Iridessa, Terence, and Vidia make an appearance. If your little one is a huge fan of the Tinkerbell movies then they will definitely enjoy this part of the program.
As exciting as the entire show was, Tinkerbell was the one who stole the show. This Wendy is definitely have a hard time admitting Tinkerbell was that good since I’m not supposed to like her. But I did. When she flew in across the stage it was breathtaking. It is very hard to not love a fairy like her.
The second half of the show features Toy Story 3
Sarge and the Green Army Men’s familiar routine is always good to see. Sarge sure does have moves and marching in formation is no easy task on the ice. Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, Bullseye, Slinky Dog, Hamm, Barbie, Ken, Lotso, Rex, Little Green Men, and Stretch recreate many familiar scenes from Sunnyside Daycare in Toy Story 3. The execution of the children into gigantic cutout figures that many children in the audience laughed at worked surprisingly well.
Disney on Ice has always been our family’s favorite show. Over the years we have seen many of them and they always deliver a strong performance. Opening night was a difficult night for many of the performers as this was the single most number of falls and missed landings I have ever seen in one show. Perhaps the ice conditions were not ideal. Whatever it was, hopefully no one was hurt.
Parental advisory:
There are periods of blackouts, fireworks, bubbles, and a few loud surprises that might startle younger or sensitive children. Children of all ages, including tweens will love the show as Queen Clarion, Tinkerbell, and Woody fly over the ice.
The finale only shows the characters from the second half of the show, which is exclusively Toy Story. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy also appear but Cars and the other characters from the first half do not appear again.
