Upcycle Your Salad Bowl Into A Bathroom Travel Container
As a Chick-fil-A Moms Panel member we are often treated to new products to discover our opinions and share it with you. Recently they introduced the Spicy Southwest Salad and provided the challenge to upcycle your salad bowl.
After using our gift card to try the new Spicy Southwest Salad we took our salad bowl and lid home to wash them. While there are many uses to upcycle a container instead of throwing it in the trash or in the recycle container, we chose to make something that is portable and meant for travel.
From Salad Bowl to Bathroom Travel Container
Upcycle your salad bowl into a bathroom travel container in these easy steps:
- Eat your favorite Chick-fil-A salad and bring home the salad bowl and lid.
- Wash bowl and lid.
- Cover the bottom with crinkle cut shred.
- Add your favorite bathroom travel containers.
- Place lid on top.
- Tie with a bow or a slip on a rubber band to keep securely closed during travel.
For our container we added travel size shampoo, cream rinse, body lotion, body wash, and bar soap from our last stay at the Disneyland Hotel. We also added a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, razor, hair spray, cotton balls, eye glass cleaner, and a nail file. Everything fit with extra room to spare but you can also remove the crinkle cut shred in order to add more items.
Not only can these be used for your own portable travel bathroom container, they can be used in the guest bathroom for your guests in case they left something at home.
Additionally these can be used to give to those who are homeless, donated to a domestic violence shelter, or provided to your local fire department for those who are unexpectedly left without a home.
There are so many ways to upcycle a Chick-fil-A salad bowl and this was just one idea we had to make travel a little bit easier with a DIY upcycle project. We might even make one for each member of our family for our next travel adventure.
This is genius!! We are always looking for ways to hand out what we call emergency kits to the homeless, and in the past, we’ve just used ziploc bags. This inspires me to use these containers instead…put the sample size shampoo, toothpaste, etc, along with a bottle of water and snack bar or something. Thanks for the idea!
You are welcome Des! We have not tried it, but it seems they would stack well together to make organizing several of them easy at one time. Giving to others is such a blessing and happy we can help you pass this along.
What a great idea! I am always looking for new and better ways to organize my home!
Thanks Julie! Organizing containers can set your household budget back pretty far but this one is a reward for eating healthy. Getting organized while eating healthy is a win all around.
