Walmart Savings Catcher App Saves You Money

I shopped savvy using Walmart Savings Catcher, as part of a sponsored post for Crowdtap #WMTSavingsCatcher.

Save on groceries with this free app from Walmart

Shopping has never been easier than with a new app that makes saving money something you never have to think about. The Walmart Savings Catcher uses competitor’s store ads to match prices and refunds money to you if they find the exact item with a lower price at another store. Seems too easy? It really is.

Walmart is a store we shop at for convenience. By having everything in one place we don’t have to drive around to all the stores just to get the lowest price. In the past we would bring in the paper ads from the other stores to do price matching at the cash register. Now we don’t have to do that anymore.

Walmart Savings Catcher app details

How does Walmart Savings Catcher app work?

  1. Download the Walmart App on your phone or access Walmart online.
  2. Sign into your Walmart account or sign up for a new account.
  3. Click on Savings Catcher.
  4. Scan your store receipt that is less than 7 days old.
  5. Wait three days while they automatically compare prices.
  6. You get alerted if they find any savings.
  7. Save up on the eCard for something big or use it on your next trip in the store.

When I signed up for Walmart Savings Catcher I was asked to provide my phone number. With a four digit code they texted me I confirmed my number and now store receipts can be submitted at the checkout register simply by providing my phone number. By setting up my phone number no scanning of my receipt is necessary, which means even more savings because there will be no more lost receipts since they will send me an eReceipt.

Walmart Savings Catcher app saves on groceries

One app makes saving on groceries a snap.

Our family went to Walmart to try out this new app. When we returned home, we set up the app, and once the receipt was scanned in there were 107 competitors found in our area where the app was looking for lower prices. While we were waiting we discovered a receipt from the previous day and scanned that one in. We saved $0.23 on just that one trip. One trip that we never ad matched or even thought about saving money. It was simply a quick trip to get a few things that were needed.

If you love to use coupons, you can still use them in conjunction with this app. You still get the full value of your coupons and can get the price matched on top of that. It’s almost like double savings.

Now the only thing we need to think of is whether we will spend the eCard right away or save it and wait for something bigger like birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, or just that little splurge item we never spend on ourselves.

Be sure to read the FAQ about what is included and what is not included. There is a limit of $599.99 back in one year and a limit of 7 receipts scanned each week.

Whether you plan your trip around the sale ads or are just going in for one quick item to pick up, definitely use the Walmart Savings Catcher to save money on what you need most. Your wallet will thank you.
