Plugged In Family embraces the geek inside and helps families connect in our digital world, both online and offline. As Head Geek, Wendy provides insight into the pop culture experience through Comicon, movie reviews, technology, family travel, and interviews.
A homeschooling photographer, her favorite view in the world is behind the lens of a camera capturing the moments of today, creating the memories of tomorrow.
She is a mother of two boys, a teen and tween. Her youngest son is the most recognized member of the family with his naturally curly hair that has never been cut. Long before they turned 14 and 11, the boys could give anyone a tour of Disneyland and California Adventure without using a map.
Wendy has partnered with Disney, HP, and other nationally known brands. She was a speaker at Phoenix Comicon, interviewed by Reuters in an article read around the globe, and brought her family to Disney Social Media Moms which is an invite only celebration extended by Disney to select influencers.
When not found at Disneyland, Comicon, or spreading smiles across the Galaxy in her Jawa costume, she is behind a gaming console with or without her boys.
Wendy made her screen accurate Jawa costume and became a member of the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion. She also made her son’s Stormtrooper costume, Sorcerer Mickey Fett costume, Star-Lord costume, and more.
Her family has made over eighty appearances in their Star Wars costumes, appearing in the Fiesta Bowl Parade, Star Wars Night for the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Arizona Coyotes. They have appeared for The Force Awakens movie premiere, Rogue One movie premiere, and The Last Jedi movie premiere. They have appeared at Star Wars Celebration, videos produced by Lucasfilm, and on the local news channel multiple times.
Giving back to her community is important. With her boys and husband alongside her, the entire family has volunteered their time at National Adoption Day, World Down Syndrome Day, Cystic Fibrosis Walk, Make-A-Wish Walk for Wishes, Phoenix Zoo, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and countless others.
She is working on publishing her first book and busy fulfilling handmade orders in their Etsy shop.
When she grows up she will become a Disneyland photographer so she can combine her love of photography and wear Minnie Mouse ears every day.
